About Me
Welcome! I’m a volunteer, a student, and I want to help you do something good. I believe in everyone’s obligation to make the world around them better. In my various occupations, I aim to do just that. As a writer, I want to inspire people to do good for one another. As a volunteer, I work to facilitate cultural and educational experiences and to inspire young people to take action in their communities. As a web designer, I aim to empower and equip clients and visitors to best accomplish their goals. Peace Building (and Scouts)
I have been a Scout since 2006, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in 2014. I spent most of my time as a youth member facilitating and developing leadership training courses. I believe that young people, properly empowered, have a unique energy and ability to improve the world around them.
In 2015, at the World Scout Jamboree in Japan, I was inspired by the peace building work other scouts were doing around the world. I have since been working to inspire scouts at home to engage with global issues in their local communities. Notably, I worked with the US Contingent Management Team for the 24th World Scout Jamboree to share the SDGs and the work of the World Organization of the Scout Movement’s work with the Boy Scouts of America.
Academics
I have always been a great lover of learning. Currently an undergraduate History major at Middlebury College, I enjoy exploring the ways in which history, and the world, unfold. I believe that by understanding the ways in which people in the past engaged with and reacted to the issues of their day we can better understand how to mobilize ourselves going into the future. In other words, we can only write our own story once we understand how to write history.
I also study various languages (French, Spanish, German, and Arabic), literature, philosophy, and art.
Web Design and Social Media
Web design and online communications are possibly the most important and influential tools we have today. I have been fortunate enough to have been on several teams learning how to design effective websites and social media strategies. I designed and managed the website for the US Contingent to the 24th World Scout Jamboree and am currently working with the 16th World Scout Moot in a similar capacity. ّI have also consulted with various smaller groups, including the Foothills Reading Specialist.
